A Foggy Day

Northeast Metropolitan Park

— Not in London town, as the song goes. Around mid-December 2017 we had one of those thick foggy morning in the Austin area. It was the same foggy pattern that prevented us from seeing the first Supermoon of 2018. This is Travis County’s Northeast Metropolitan Park, and it is actually located in Pflugerville, just a few miles from our house. With the weather getting worse, I figured a quick drive to the park would likely give me the scenery and mood I had in mind with the fog and fall colors still very strong. Another shot I posted here in 2016 shows the foliage on the other side of this small pond. In addition to a great biking trail that connects several Pflugerville parks, this park has 18 soccer fields (yes, 18!), a basketball court, a tennis court, a cricket field, a playscape, a very busy skate park as well Travis County’s BMX Racetrack among other amenities. The park can be very busy on weekends, but on week days, the 349-acre park is quiet as it can be. That is when I love biking there.
