— With all the recent rain we have received in Austin, today was the first sunny day since this past weekend. With temperatures climbing into the upper 70s, I had my wish to celebrate being retired by doing something simple and yet something that would remind me I couldn’t have done it if I had been working. So, with camera in hand, I headed to Bull Creek in west Austin to see the rain effect to the falls and creek. This particular area of Bull Creek is adjacent to the Bull Creek Preserve, where the golden-cheeked warbler is protected. This is a favorite spot to bring your dog, swim and sunbathe. In fact, today (December 20), there were two people sunbathing by the creek.
