Cub Lake

Cub Lake

Rocky Mountain National Park (Colorado) has 359 miles (578 km) of trails, 150 lakes, and 450 miles (720 km) of streams. You can easily take a day hike and go by 3 or more lakes. That is exactly what we did here back in July 2007. Cub Lake is known for its lily pads in the summer months. The complete trail is about 6.1 miles (9.8 km) in length with an elevation gain of 570 feet (174 m). Because of its popularity, this trail can be busy at times, especially at the start. A lot of people just go a few yards or a couple of miles to appreciate this lake’s beauty. If this is a long hike, you can always try Bear Lake or Sprague Lake. However, if lakes are in your mind, you can have your fill with Dream, Nymph, and Emerald lakes.
