— Sometimes we lose sight of how fragile we are. When I made this shot in 2011, we were spending New Year’s in Taos, New Mexico, along with some dear friends. Seeing nature covered with snow and beauty in the simplest things, I was reminded of Sting’s song “Fragile.” In particular, these lyrics came to mind:
That Nothing comes from violence and nothing ever couldFor all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are.
This Christmas ornament was outside by our front door reflecting the area around it. Merry Christmas, if that is your holiday tradition. Season’s greetings to all!
