— We are lucky to live in Austin, where McKinney Falls State Park is located. With great hiking and biking trails, the park also offers unparalleled views in an urban setting. Onion Creek flows through the park, and in some years flooding has caused massive damage to the park and surrounding areas. On the other hand, such as this beautiful fall afternoon when I made this shot, one cannot stop appreciating the beauty around us. This is the Lower Falls area, near the visitor center. It is also a popular swimming hole. Even when creek levels are low, there is always a place where you can kick off your shoes and soak your feet in the cool waters of Onion Creek. This particular shot was made from three bracketed images merged to create this HDR photo.
