McDonald Falls

McDonald Falls at Glacier National ParkMcDonald Falls

– Today is Earth Day, and nothing like a scene in Glacier National Park to bring back memories of a clean Earth. Although the glaciers in the park are indeed melting fast, there are still several locations where the park is exuberant and overwhelmingly beautiful. This short and easy hike along McDonald Creek just before it empties into McDonald Lake is such an example. The trail winds through aromatic hemlock, larch and Douglas fir. The turquoise waters of McDonald Creek beckon you to look at them up close. When you hear the roaring sounds of McDonald Falls, you cannot resist stopping and admiring those falls.
