Mount Henry’s Scenic Point

Mt. Henry's Scenic Point

— After having visited Glacier National Park once for only four days back in 2009, we had to return and truly explore the Crown of the Continent more leisurely. So, in 2014, our vacation destination was Glacier NP. Planning for the trip was not that easy. Besides the logistics of finding the right accommodations at the right time (we lucked out!), we had to decide what trails we could do. Our first stop on this trip was the Two Medicine Lake area. So, on our first day in the park, we hiked Mount Henry to enjoy the majestic views of Two Medicine Lake from 7,522 feet (2,293 meters). The hike is considered moderately strenuous in some book guides, and that is due to the lack of shade and elevation gain of 3,106 ft (946.7 m). The roundtrip hike is approximately 12.4 miles (20 km). The lack of shade is something to keep in mind depending on the time of the year you go. Once you get to the top of Mount Henry, the views are spectacular, such as the one in this shot. It is most definitely worth doing it.
