North Fork San Gabriel River

North Fork San Gabriel River– The North and South Forks of the San Gabriel River originate in Burnet County and merge in Georgetown, Texas, just north of Austin, to create the San Gabriel River. The limestone bottom of this river is a characteristic of the Balcones Fault in Central Texas. The area on this photo is just by Camp Tejas, on the margins of Georgetown Lake, about 25 miles north of Austin. Biking and hiking trails are beautiful in this area, with a level of difficulty going from easy to strenuous. Also, around the area, there are several small county roads with unparalleled views of the Hill Country. Those hills are undulating and not very steep, making it all for a very pleasant bike ride.
