Sol Duc Falls

Sol Duc Falls

— Olympic National Park has three major ecosystems: subalpine forest and wildflower meadow, temperate forest, and the rugged Pacific shore. The park encompasses almost a million acres. Sol Duc Falls is a favorite destination for many who visit that area. In fact, TripAdvisor ranks this fall as number seven among over 30 attractions in the park. The hike is merely 1.7 miles long and very scenic. Right before reaching the falls, you cross that wooden bridge shown on the back of this photo. There are several spots where you can get really close to the falls (see my other post). Some tourists even get very risky about trying to step on some large boulder near the fall.
