An Empty Office

Oval Office Replica

— I find the symbolism of this empty Oval Office very meaningful to the times in which we presently live. The man in the position of President of the United States of America has done absolutely nothing to unite us in times of difficulty. I firmly believe that the problems we are facing now would be better handled or be moving in the right direction if we had a President. It is pathetic that among all the pain the country is feeling, the President chooses to fight with social media or create photo opportunities to advance his sickening agenda of racism, bullying, prejudice, and misogyny. The photo above is in fact a replica of the Oval Office used by former President Lyndon B. Johnson. The replica is an exhibit in the LBJ Library, Austin, Texas. This is one of my favorite places in Austin, as so much history is on display there, including civil rights movement and sending a crew to the Moon.
