Bear Lake
— Bear Lake is one of the most visited areas in Rocky Mountain NP. With a very easy hike of just 0.7 miles (1.1 km), the trail is flat and heavily trafficked. The lake sits at an altitude of 9,450 feet (2,880 m). Although there is a large parking area near the trail, the number of visitors far exceeds the available spots during prime time. Your best alternative is to park at a shuttle location and take the bus. It provides a few stops along the way near other trails in that area of the park. From this section, there are also several other trails, some easy and some more strenuous. This is a must-see location at the park.
