— A very popular hike and bike trail in Austin, the Brushy Creek Regional Trail offers great scenery. The trail goes for about 13 miles (21 km, out and back) running parallel to Brushy Creek and covering residential areas from Round Rock to Cedar Park. You even go by the scenic Brushy Creek Lake. In addition to a mostly paved trail, there are sections of gravel as well as side trails for mountain bikers, ranging from easy to very difficult.
To enjoy scenic views by the creek, such as in the photos here, all you need to do is take some of the side trails. This particular mountain bike trail is an easy-to-moderate section of the trail. This section is located just west of Parmer Lane before you go under Hwy 183 and the north end of the trail. It is a nice area perfect for picnics and quiet times.
Keep in mind that since the trail covers a large areas in residential neighborhoods, there are more people using the trail on weekends. Weekdays are better for exploring the trail and all it has to offer.
