Canyon Rim Trail

Canyon Rim Trail— Not being one to take selfies often — I prefer not to spoil the scenery — I’ll make an exception for this shot. This is a throwback-Thursday photo made about 3 years ago. Yes, I was happy to make my first trip to Caprock Canyons State Park & Trailway in the Texas panhandle. What a beautiful park it is! I had already been to Palo Duro Canyon SP, which is not very far from Caprock Canyons. However, I had always left Caprock for the next visit. Well, it happened in 2014. Besides being home to adorable prairie dogs, the Texas bison roam freely in the park. You can experience 90 miles of easy and challenging trails throughout the park. On the first day in the park, we did the Canyon Rim Trail, which is a fairly easy singletrack trail about 3 miles in length. If I look happy in the photo, it is because the views along the canyon rim are magnificent.
