— After seeing this nature trail many times as I drive to my local grocery store, I decided to visit it one day. Wow, what was I missing! The Copperfield Nature Trail is a small trail (about 4 miles only) in north Austin that runs nearly parallel to Walnut Creek near the Dessau Road and Yager Lane. It is a very secluded trail with some beautiful views of the creek, especially the south section of it. You can hike and bike it, but once you reach the south section, you’ll come to a point where you’ll need to get off your bike. The end near Yager has a beautiful display of wildflowers every year. The same goes for the area around the pond at Blakeney Street. The delicate nature of these Fox Glove flowers caught my eyes. I had seen some varieties of it in Washington at Olympic and North Cascades National Parks. To find them here about a mile from our house was a special treat.
