From the Deck

— Our visits to family in Brazil often include spending weekends at Lagoa do Banana, about 45 minutes from our house. One of my brothers has a house at Lagoa. Sometimes it can be busy in the summer, but often at the end of the day, peace and quiet return. Besides stunning sunsets right from the pool deck, Lagoa do Banana is also within a few minutes from pristine beaches in the Cumbuco and Barra do Cauípe area. This sunset was a memorable one. We were just a day before the last day of 2012 when we marveled at this scene while eating delicious barbecue and sipping caipirinhas. Between that year and now, the Lagoa went completely dry because of droughts. Luckily, rains came back and filled the Lagoa back again to its usual water levels.
