— One of the nicest things about spring in Texas is that the display of wildflowers seems to on-going from February through early June. After Bluebonnets are done with their impressive display all over the state, you then have other wildflowers surfacing and coloring the fields everywhere. Right close to our house, there’s this small nature trail part of the Walnut Creek greenbelt. The area is the Copperfield Nature Trail. I like to go mountain biking there on a small section on the northern portion of trail, but the southern section is more scenic and suitable mostly for hiking. That is where I tend to find some unusual wildflowers growing. In these two shots, I feature a Giant Spiderwort flower, including a bee in the shot below. These flowers only last a day and are about the size of a quarter.
