— Venice is arguably a city in everyone’s bucket list. When planning a trip to Italy a few years ago, we knew we had to spend some time in Venice. Getting there had its funny moments. For starters, I didn’t know there were two train stations. Therefore, we ended up getting off at the wrong station. So, directions to our hotel did not match anything at all. I had studied Italian for about three months prior to that trip and was able to get us out of this unexpected situation. Once at the spot we were supposed to be, my handheld GPS lead us directly to our hotel without any glitches. I was impressed! Besides doing the usual things in Venice, we also enjoyed simply wandering the streets to discover hidden gems away from the beaten path. Also, enjoying sunsets in the city was a wonderful thing. It is doing those things that we run into scenes such as the one in the photo above.
