— There so much to see and appreciate at Canyonlands NP (Utah). However, if you are truly pushed for time, there are two main areas you should definitely see: the Grand View Point Overlook and the Green River Overlook, where the shot above was made. The best part of it is that these two overlooks are very close to each other. The photo above — this point sits at 6,000 feet (1,800 meters) above the canyon floor — gives the viewer an expansive view of the various canyons that lie below. To reach this point, you just hike about 0.2 miles (0.3 km) from the parking lot area. Once there, you can easily see the Green River meandering on the right side of the photo and also Turks Head, that mesa formation by the river. The Soda Springs Basin and the White Rim Trail can also be seen far below. Yes, that is a road you see around the rim.
