Grinnell Point

Grinnell Point at Swiftcurrent Lake

— If you ever have the opportunity to stay at the Many Glacier Hotel in Glacier NP, don’t miss it. Depending on availability, you may have a small room, but the hotel grounds are spectacular. From its deck, you will have breathtaking views of Swiftcurrent Lake and the surrounding mountains.

In a previous entry, you can see Mt. Gould and a couple of remaining glaciers. In the photo featured here, Grinnell Point dominates the scene. It rises 7,604 feet (2,318 meters). To its right on the far horizon is Swiftcurrent Mountain, located in the Continental Divide. That mountain rises 8,440 feet (2,573 meters). Lastly, on the right side, is Mt. Wilbur, rising 9,326 feet (2,843 meters). All three peaks are located in the Lewis Range.
