— Austin artist Raúl Valdez has been making murals in Austin, Central Texas, and beyond since 1975. So, when the Steve Hicks School of Social Work on the UT Austin campus was moving to its location on San Jacinto Boulevard, it was only natural to use the large stairwell next to the foyer as the new installation of another Valdez mural. The mural spans the entire stairwell from the second to the third floors of the building. You can spend hours admiring the beautiful work and seeing the various elements of social justice and human lives depicted in Valdez’s art. Here are two sections of “Heart & Soul.” You can see more of Valdez’s work by visiting his website.
