Moraine Park Valley

Moraine Park Valley

— If you enter Rocky Mountain NP using its east entrance, shortly after the entry gates, you will be seeing the view in the photo above. This valley is known as Moraine Park. In the area there are several trails — Mills Lake, Fern Lake, Cub Lake, Bear Lake, just to name a few — a campground, and you can also spot a lot of wildlife there, especially early in the day or late afternoons. Elk, deer, and turkeys can be seen around the valley. At an elevation of 8,150 ft (2,484 m), the views of Colorado peaks are abundant. I confess that every single day we drove this road (you can see a bit of if on the right in the photo), the scenery was different. It never gets old.
