— Fall foliage in Central Texas is often a hit-and-miss event. Just like with spring wildflowers, fall foliage depends on the right weather conditions and changes. I do not know if we’ll have dramatic fall foliage this year — if any, at all. However, last year, on one of my bike rides at the Travis County Northeast Metropolitan Park, the colors were simply exuberant. Yes, it was November, but fall starts late around here.
The NE Metro Park has 349 acres of public land including multi-use baseball fields, a cricket field, 18 soccer fields, a BMX racetrack, group shelters, water play area, basketball court, tennis court and a paved hike and bike trail that extends and connects to several Pflugerville city parks.
