— Fall in Central Texas is just like springtime: hit and miss in terms of drama. Back in 2014, I took a loop drive around Austin in order to observe fall colors. That was a very good year for dramatic colors in the Hill Country. After going by a couple of state parks within a 50-mile radius from Austin, my last stop was at Pedernales Falls SP. Did I strike gold! Walking along the Pedernales River, I had a variety of scenes to explore. The bright and crisp fall day was on my side. The sun was shining just right to enhance the vibrancy of those orange and yellow colors. This particular shot (taken a little over 2 years to date) was downstream from the main falls area. I didn’t even have to fight over crowds to enjoy the quiet and bucolic feeling. I doubt this year we have similar colors.
