— So, here we are in October, and high temperatures are still in the upper 90s and even reaching the century mark! What is a guy to do to get fall weather? Well, I have to go back to some old photos and try to grab that fall foliage feeling. The photo above is not really a fall scene, but the leafless trees and turquoise Pedernales River color fools me. Actually, I made this shot back in February this year, but since fall comes very late in this part of Texas, maybe the trees were thinking it was fall. Pedernales Falls SP is a popular destination in Central Texas, especially if you live in Austin. The park is only about 45 minutes from downtown. On this particular afternoon, I strolled along the river and moved away from the falls. As with any other park, the moment you step away a few feet from a popular area, it’s as if you have the park all to yourself. It happens in state parks and national parks. If you’re still experiencing hot weather, I hope the sight of these cool waters will alleviate the heat.
