— As the afternoon was coming to a close, the clouds over Nymph Lake at Rocky Mountain NP put on a fantastic show. The peaceful waters provided a crisp reflection of the surrounding mountains. To grasp the full breadth of light in this shot, I took three bracketed images and merged them to create what you see above. That enabled me to get all light and shadow present in the shot. Although the pond lilies are not prominently shown here as from the other shots in a previous postings, the view of the mountains make up for that. No matter how many times we have been to this park, this is one trail we always do. We start at Bear Lake and then move away from the crowds on a path that takes to three memorable locations: Nymph Lake, Dream Lake, and Emerald Lake. Beauty just can’t get much better than this!
