Cadillac Ranch

Cadillac Ranch (Amarillo, Texas)Cadillac Ranch

– The Cadillac Ranch is an art installation in Amarillo, in the Texas Panhandle. It was created in 1974 by Chip Lord, Hudson Marquez and Doug Michels, who were members of the art group Ant Farm. The installation depicts ten Cadillacs from 1949 to 1963, half-buried nose-first in the ground, at an angle corresponding to that of the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. The cars are easily accessible from the interstate and located on private land. An unlocked gate allows visitors to come in as they please. Writing graffiti is also allowed.
