Colors in Copperfield

— In mid-November 2021, I decided to take a quick walk in our neighborhood park, Copperfield Nature Trail (Austin, Texas). If you have been following my photos here for a while, you know this park is one of my favorites. It is not only because of its proximity to my house. The trail is also very scenic at just about any time of the year. With fall colors beginning to appear in Texas at that time of the year, I wanted to find out what colors I could find at that park. Was I surprised at what I found! Of course, I knew there would not be any grand-scale scenery. In spite of that, I was prepared to explore the small scenes presented to me.

Right at the entrance to this area where the pond is, I saw some beautiful colors beginning to pop here and there. Since it was still mid-morning, everything was perfect: clouds in the sky, quiet waters, and beautiful light. So, I started to make some photos. I saw the potential to do a mini-project in the area using some of the photos I had captured during that visit. This is the first of three posts featuring fall colors in Copperfield. These two photos are a summary to give you a glimpse of things to come. The other two posts will be about “Reds, Oranges, Yellows” and “Other Colors.”
