Grand Teton and Mount Moran

— Some scenes never get old no matter how many times we have seen them. That is the case of the classic Grand Teton National Park shot taken from the Oxbow Bend overlook. When we visited that park in 2009, when these shots were made, we drove around several areas, but this was our favorite. Oxbow Bend is known as a place to look for wildlife. It was, in fact, not tto far from that area that we spotted some moose. The Teton Range runs north-south in the state of Wyoming, just east of the Idaho state line. The range extends for approximately 40 miles (64 km). In the shot above, generally referred to as the Cathedral Group, we can spot Grand Teton (13,775 feet – 4,199 m) right in the middle. The body of water at the bottom of the photo is Jackson Lake. In the photo below, Mount Moran (12,605 feet – 3,842 m) is the tall mountain with a flat top at about a quarter from the left-hand side of the photo.
