— Contrary to the Upper Antelope Canyon, the Lower Antelope Canyon is much narrower. It is a more intense and longer hike. Also, the entrance to the canyon requires the use of ladders. Some sections of the canyon are really very tight and also require the visitor to use ladders to get from one point to another. In Navajo, the Lower Antelope Canyon is known as “spiral rock arches.” If you go, you’ll be pleasantly surprised there are fewer people here. When we were there, our guide took us in — we were the only people at that time — and told us to stay as long as we wanted. He went back up and left us there to enjoy the quiet and light coming from above. The mere fact there are fewer people here is more than enough for me to recommend the Lower Antelope Canyon.
