Sunset by the Dillon Reservoir

— When we were staying in Silverthorne, Colorado, in July 2022, we were blessed with countless and unforgettable views. Whether sitting on the deck or hiking the various trails (Rainbow Lake, for example) in the area, the landscape was memorable.

Being close to the Dillon Reservoir allowed us to appreciate several sunsets. One particular afternoon, after the rain stopped, Mother Nature put on a special show. As the clouds began to dissipate, the light on the mountains and reservoir was simply magical.

Suddenly, a rainbow appeared and began covering the mountain in front of my eyes. While appreciating the beauty I was witnessing, I was able to capture a few images to remember that special afternoon. The same thing happened the next day with a double rainbow. I don’t have a photo of that day, but here is a close-up of the rainbow on the mountain.
