— Sometimes a scene is so perfect that there is nothing else needed in post-editing. I spent the last three days enjoying the quietness and beauty of Lake Bastrop South Shore park in Bastrop. Although today the weather is approaching the freezing mark, the last three days were like springtime weather. Daytime highs were in the 70s with plenty of sunshine. Lake Bastrop South Shore park is just outside Bastrop, TX, and past the state park. Unlike the state park, this LCRA (Lower Colorado River Authority) unit did not have any damages from the devastating fires of September 2011. The beautiful loblolly pine trees are intact at Lake Bastrop South Shore. As a result of that, camp sites and mini cabins are in higher demand in this park. However, when you have the chance to use those on week days, you literally can have the park almost all to yourself. That was the case for me this week. I got there on Sunday and by Monday morning, I was the only person in the 12-mini-cabin waterfront cabin area. I could enjoy all the various things the park offers without any distracting noises. On the first day, I hiked the Swift Trail and was able to capture the photo above (using my Samsung Galaxy S10e phone camera). No editing was necessary on this shot, other than adding my logo and frame. This particular hike was only 4 miles (6.4 km) long. We did not hike the Loblolly Loop, which is also in the same area. Day two was for mountain biking from the south shore to the north shore of the lake. Day three was perfect for kayaking these calm waters.
