— The Bean is the popular name given to Cloud Gate, a stainless steel sculpture created by Indian-born British artist Sir Anish Kapoor. Located in Millennium Park, Chicago, the sculpture resembles a bean and was constructed between 2004 and 2006. It has 168 stainless steel plates welded together with no visible seams. I visited this area a few times while I was in Chicago in 2016. The last time I was there, I was able to experience more of the magic the Bean creates for visitors. If you walk under the Bean, it will feel like being inside a kaleidoscope. The reflections, colors, shades, and illusions change with each single step. Below I have two other shots I created under the Bean. The very bottom shot was taken directly below the center. So, you can see a small dot in the center circle; that’s me.
