I’ve been mildly astonished at how menories of D Day have made such an impact world wide, way beyond the shores of Britain, France and Europe generally. But then it couldn’t have happened without world-wide input.

Margaret, I think it is important that D-Day is observed outside of Europe. It really impacted the world in which we presently live.

Awful times for those who had to live through them, Egidio. And the battle’s not over yet.
