The Other Side of Dream Lake

Dream Lake

— It is like a totally different world when you look at Dream Lake from the other end. As we were hiking back from Emerald Lake, the scenery we encountered at Rocky Mountain NP was entirely different. Hallett Peak and Flattop Mountain are now behind me. The view you see is that of an entirely different lake with the tall pines reflecting on these serene waters. Although we cannot see in this shot, there were several people sitting on those rocks on the left and enjoying the tranquility found here. It is truly amazing that a hiker only needs to go a bit farther from the busy trail around Bear Lake to encounter peace and quiet. We have found that it is true in every national park we have visited. The farther you go, the more you have to yourself with hardly anyone around you.
