— Sometimes you do not have to travel far to run into unexpected beauty and tranquility. I often go to the Northeast Metropolitan Park to start some of my most scenic bike rides. This pond is close to several soccer fields and has often drawn my attention because of its serenity and beauty. I have gone there to photograph at various times, often coming home with serene shots. One reason I enjoy biking in this area is because the trail is quiet, shaded, and goes through several city parks in Pflugerville. A great portion of the trail goes right along Gilleland Creek. At times, after strong rains, the trail becomes impassable in some sections.
