Waiting for Dinner

Iracema Beach sunset in Fortaleza, Brazil

Fortaleza, the capital of Brazil‘s northeastern Ceará state, is known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife. One of the city’s most popular attractions is its stunning sunsets. The sun sets over the Atlantic Ocean, creating a stunning display of colors. The sky turns a fiery red, orange, and yellow, and the clouds are often painted with these same colors. The water reflects the sky, creating a mirror image of the sunset. Fortaleza is transformed into a kaleidoscope of colors.

There are many places to watch a sunset in Fortaleza. For me the best sunsets in the city are captured at Avenida Beira-Mar (Seashore Avenue) at Praia de Iracema (Iracema Beach), where I made this photo using my Samsung S23 phone.

Although I had been in Brazil in 2020, this was the first time in five years that I returned to my hometown of Fortaleza. So, on our first evening back, I told my husband that dinner would need to be outdoors, by the ocean. I wanted to experience the beautiful colors as we waited for our dinner to be served. This was precisely the view from our dining room table on the beach.

The sunsets in Fortaleza are a truly magical sight. They are a perfect way to end a day of exploring this beautiful city. If you are ever in Fortaleza, be sure to catch a sunset. It is a truly unforgettable experience. No matter where you choose to watch the sunset in Fortaleza, you’re sure to be amazed by its beauty.

Finally, with this photo, I am entering the Lens-Artists Challenge photo series. For this particular week, I am submitting for Lens-Artists Challenge #250: Skyscapes or Cloudscapes. That entry appears in Amy’s blog, The World Is a Book…
