— It is hard to put into words the breathtaking views one finds at Canyonlands National Park, Utah. This was our last stop during our Utah national parks trip last year. Dozens of canyons, mesas and buttes are scattered throughout the parks four districts: Island in the Sky, The Needles, The Maze, and the Colorado River itself. The view featured on this photo was taken at Buck Canyon Overlook in the Island in the Sky district. The shadows and highlights made this a good option for a black and white photo. Way in the background, right behind the second mesa, towards the upper right side, the Colorado River meanders through Canyonlands NP.
