Early Fall Colors

— The Emerald Lake trail at Rocky Mountain NP is a very scenic trail. Before you reach that lake, you hike past Nymph and Dream lakes. The trail is fairly easy — just around 3 miles (4.8 km) roundtrip — but it does have an elevation gain of approximately 650 ft (198 m). In addition to the beautiful lakes, you also have scenes such as the one shown above. This was taken right after we had passed Nymph Lake on our way to Dream Lake. It was early September, but some aspens were beginning to show fall foliage colors. We had to stop and admire the Rockies as well as the vibrant colors.
