— Whether you looked left or right, the scene at Lake Somerville SP was priceless. As the Sun started to set, my friends and I sat down by the lake shore to appreciate the spectacular show nature gave us. To our left, the moon was rising. Looking to the right, the Sun was softly leaving and gifting us its last rays of light. A few birds and ducks swam nearby. Everything was calm and peaceful. Such was the end of the days when we camped out by Lake Somerville SP‘s Birch Creek Unit.
A few things got my attention to make this capture. Since the skies were cloudless, other things drew my eyes to the scene. First and foremost, I have to mention the waves. The gentle breeze created ripples in a criss-cross pattern on the water, and that enhanced the colors of the sunset. I also liked the clear line between the lake and the sand leading my eyes to the large tree in the horizon.
