Shells

Shells

— While walking along the beach in Port Aransas, we often see a variety of wildlife and other things (trash included). American oystercatchers, seagulls, and Portuguese man-of-war are just examples of fascinating sights. Another common occurrence is the presence of shells all over the shore. We often see people collecting shells they find on the shore. For me, what surprises me the most is where shells can attach themselves to. I have seen shells covering coconuts, plastic bottles, and even flip-flops! While they often cover an object in large numbers, this time I saw this one piece of wood with just a couple of shells dangling from it. I had never been able to observe that up close as I did on this trip on the shot above. The shot below, on the other hand, shows a piece of wood covered in shells.
