If I had to pick only one of several beautiful cities in Italy, I think it would have to be Assisi. There is truly something mythical and magical about Assisi. Whether visiting the Basilica di San Francesco or simply admiring the stunning Umbria countryside, Assisi is charming and captivating. Everywhere you walk, the city breathes history. Everywhere you look, the city impresses a visitor with its simplicity and beauty. The view here is from the top section of the Basilica.
The Basilica di San Francesco d’Assisi is the mother church of the Franciscan Order. It sits on a mountain overlooking the city of Assisi, where St. Francis was born. The Basilica has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since the year 2000.
